Maurice Ambroise Ehlinger (1896-1981) was born in the Alsace region of France.


Maurice Ambroise Ehlinger (1896-1981) was born in the Alsace region of France. He studied at the Academie des Beaux Arts in Paris and regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon; a permanent collection of his work now resides at the Museum of Fine Arts of St. Die in the Vosges region. Ehlinger was known for his portraits, and also for his “sensitive but powerful rendering of the female form”, as well as his still life of floral.
