Michael Gerry

by on October 30, 2015

Michael Gerry, deceased American artist (1952 – 2008).

Michael Gerry’s work consists of oversized, almost photorealistic representations of a wide variety of floral images, in addition to landscapes and plein aire paintings. Gerry himself describes his work: “I paint anywhere from 20 to 60 times life size. At this scale a subtle transformation occurs.”
“I am a professional artist and have been painting for over thirty-five years. I specialize in painting photo-realistic large scale flowers but also paint landscapes, still life and portraits as well as the occasional plein aire work. I teach oil painting workshops in northern Illinois.”
Michael Gerry died July 2008 at the age of 56.
