Nello Iovine was born in Cava dei Tirreni (Salerno), Italy in 1935.

Nello Iovine was born in Cava dei Tirreni (Salerno), Italy in 1935.  He lived in Salerno and Verbania on the shores of Lake Maggiore.  After many years he returned to Battipaglia, Italy.  Iovine specialized in figurative and portrait paintngs.  A classic style painter he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples where he was a pupil of Professor Guido Casciaro.  His artistic career started in 1954 at the age of 18 when he held his first solo exhibition in Salerno.  In the 1960’s he was discovered by Arnot Gallery, who commissioned a long series of paintings.  In 1967 Arnot Gallery organized an exhibition.  In 1973,  Iovine exhibited at the Academy Tiberina of Rome.  In 1979 and 1981 he exhibited in Milan, in 1989 in Messina, in 1990 in Cesenatico, 1992 in Casalpusterlengo.  Actor, Ciccio Ingrassia, commissioned a nude portrait in 1976.

It ‘ an honorary member of various national and international academies , including the Columbia Academy of Saint Louis ( USA) , the Academy Tiberina of Rome, the Italian Academy of Arts , Letters and Sciences in Salsomaggiore.
