Raymond Campbell was born in 1956 in England where he currently resides and paints.  As a young school boy he was convinced that he would make paintings his way of life.  Gifted with a natural ability he has worked consistently towards achieving his goal.  Ray has exhibited in group exhibitions in England as well as Arnot Gallery in New York.

The professional career as an artist for Ray began to take shape in the late 1970’s after studying and traveling throughout Europe.  He was impressed by the old Dutch masters which inspired him to paint his own individual style that is recognized and admired. In 1997 he held his first solo exhibition in Australia where he found new collectors appreciating his compositions of wine bottles.

Over the years Mr. Campbell has travelled extensively assembling a collection of interesting objects from period ot modern which he sometimes includes in his compositions with great effect, in particular some of his collection of antique glasses, goblets and 19th Century Anniversary Clock.  He regularly goes to auctions to purchase fine vintage wines to add to his extensive wine cellar and as subject matter for his paintings.  Campbell is a knowledgeable connoisseur of wine and enjoys sharing this through his paintings.

Dows Port Company acquired a painting by Campbell with one of their Dow Ports incorporated into the painting for their art collections. Pierre Gimonnet also acquired a Campbell painting with the Gimonnet Champagne of France for their private collection.  Jameson Whisky Co. of Ireland acquired three Campbell paintings for their personal collections. The paintings by Raymond Campbell are on permanent exhibition with the Arnot Gallery in New York.
