Szendy Aristid,deceased Ukrainian/Hungarian (1903 – 1972).

Szendy Aristid was a Ukrainian and Hungarian painter. He was born in Uzhgorod in 1903. Aristid received his elementary art education under the guidance of the Romanian painter A. Littetskyy. From 1920 until 1923 Aristid studied under the guidance of Hungarian painter, J. Thorma, in the colony of the artists in Nagyb-nya (now the city of Baia Mare, Romania). From 1930 through 1931 he studied at the Budapest Academy of Arts. In 1931 Aristid won the cash prize at the competition of painters from Budapest, and with that money he moved to Italy. From 1936 to 1937 Aristid taught at the Hungarian College of Art in Rome, Italy. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Italy. In the late 1930s he moved to Paris, France. During WWII Szendy Aristid made his final move to the United States. Szendy Aristid died in 1972.  He was best known for his still life paintings.
