Gabriel Marc Louis Ferro, French deceased artist (1903 – 1981)
Gabriel Marc Louis Ferro was born in Paris, France in 1903. Paintings by Ferro was in the Salon d’Automne in Paris. Gabriel Ferro attended the Academies Libres in Montparnasse, France. He exhibited in Paris from 1942 at the Salon d’Automne, where he was appointed a member of the Salon that same year. Ferro was also a member of the Salon des Artistes Independants and exhibitied at the Salon des Peintres Temoins de leur Temps. His focus was of the wretchedness of desolate suburbs of France in gloomy weather, with marina houses and shacks weighed down by foreboding gray skies. All of his paintings, in spite of the gloomy horizons, are penetrated by a singular beauty, the painting itself.
One of his paintings titled ‘Sur le Plateau de Coeuilly, Seine’ was in the private collection of President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan.
